Diwali Story in English: Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu festival that is celebrated every year in India and around the world. The festival usually falls in the month of October or November, depending on the Hindu calendar.
The story behind Diwali dates back to ancient times, and there are different versions of the story depending on the region and community. However, the most common and popular story behind Diwali is the story of Lord Rama and his triumph over the demon king Ravana.
According to the legend, Lord Rama was the prince of the kingdom of Ayodhya, and his wife Sita was abducted by the demon king Ravana, who was the ruler of Lanka. Lord Rama, along with his brother Lakshmana and an army of monkeys led by Hanuman, embarked on a mission to rescue Sita and defeat Ravana.
After a long and fierce battle, Lord Rama succeeded in defeating Ravana and rescuing Sita. Upon their return to Ayodhya, the people of the kingdom lit lamps and fireworks to celebrate the triumph of good over evil and to welcome Lord Rama and his entourage.
Ever since that day, the festival of Diwali has been celebrated as a symbol of victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. It is a time for people to come together, decorate their homes with lamps and colourful lights, exchange gifts, and feast on delicious food.
The festival of Diwali is also associated with other stories and traditions, such as the story of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, and the tradition of making Rangolis, colourful patterns made with powdered colours, outside homes and temples.
